The mission of the scientific library
Making a contribution to the educational and scientific processes of the university, contributing to the further development and use of new forms of education based on modern information technologies.
Main objectives:
- Information support for education (replenishment of the fund of electronic versions of publications, including intra—university publications, etc.).
- Promotion of information and bibliographic knowledge through classes with students, with individual work with readers.
- Improvement of the library’s reference and bibliographic apparatus on traditional and electronic media in order to provide a multidimensional bibliographic disclosure of the fund.
- Increasing the technical means to facilitate the provision of library and information and bibliographic services to readers, adequate to the modern development of scientific technologies.
- Creation of comfortable conditions for the staff and users of the library.
- Increasing the level of professionalism of the Scientific Library staff.
Objectives
- Increasing the comfort of the services provided by the library. Expanding the range of library and information services provided by the library;
- Information support for educational and scientific activities of the university at the modern level;
- Optimization of the placement of the library collection, taking into account the available space for book depositories and reading rooms. Creating comfortable areas for users;
- Creation of a modern complex of information technology systems ensuring the implementation of all library and information technology processes and operations.
- Expanding the capabilities of the IT infrastructure to support and develop library and information services.
- Ensuring the safety of the library collection.
- Development of human resources as a carrier of knowledge that meets the objectives of the university library.
- Improving scientific and methodological support for innovation and project activities of the Scientific Library.
